Why filter your diesel
Water and fine dirt in diesel are a common cause of injector wear, blocked fuel filters and breakdowns on machinery. A filter on the outlet of your fuel cell or bowser catches contaminants before fuel goes into the machine, protecting your engines and saving on repairs.
Choosing a filter and cartridge
- Flow rate: match the filter to your pump's flow (70, 100 or 150 L/min). An undersized filter slows refuelling and blocks sooner.
- Bowl type: clear bowls let you see water and sediment build up, while steel bowls are tougher for site and mobile use.
- Cartridge type: particle-only cartridges trap dirt, and water-absorbing cartridges also trap water. They change colour or slow the flow when it's time to replace them.
When to change cartridges
Replace cartridges when flow drops noticeably or as the maker recommends, and always keep a spare. Not sure which cartridge fits? Call 0459 698 249 with your filter model.
